Nutrition (Holistic)

Peter & Vinca at the Studio City Farmer's Market
Holistic Health & Nutrition counseling integrates the healing modalities; from the ancient traditions of Ayurveda, Macrobiotics and Chinese Medicine, to the most current concepts like raw foods, detoxification, cleanses, juicing, low-carb lifestyle, ancestral foods, hormonal support, vegetarian vs. animal protein, and glycemic load.
The food on your plate has a crucial affect on your life: “you are what you eat”. There is no perfect way of eating that works for everybody. Our philosophy is centered on the individual; with the understanding that one person’s food is another’s poison.
Everything is food. Holistic Nutrition helps people find authentic nutrition or what is called primary food. Primary food can be anything form finding joy at your work, love in your relationships, a playful exercise routine, or spiritual solitude – this is primary food.
Holistic Nutrition is not about calorie counting, strict diet plans, more self-discipline or willpower. It is about helping people to discover what nourishes them, what feeds them and ultimately what makes their life extraordinary.
Together, the Holistic Nutrition counselor and client customize a plan to upgrade the client’s nutrition and other aspects of their life, including career, relationships, physical activity and spirituality through cooking classes, health food store tours, books, and DVDs. During this period, clients develop a deep understanding of the foods and lifestyle that work best for them, and implement lasting changes that improve their energy, balance and health for the rest of their lives.
