What You Push Against, Pushes Back

September 6th, 2011 by Mark Gregor

Most of humanity has existed in a culture built upon fighting the natural flow of life. We fight against each other, against war, against disease, against government, against nature, etc. And strangely enough (or not so strangely), in 30,000 years we have yet to get ahead of the endless list of things to fight against. Why is that you ask? Well, it’s quite simple and quite obvious: fighting doesn’t work. It only creates the energy of more fighting, more pushing back. And in that game, no one ever wins.

So if fighting doesn’t work, how to do we overcome the challenges we wish to “win” in our experience? Well, it’s simply a matter of shifting perspective. We most often associate a challenge as being a bad thing. As something we’d prefer to avoid if possible. And what we end up doing is spending most of our precious life (and energy) trying to avoid the challenges that seem to keep coming back again and again. But if we simply shift our perspective to graciously and appreciatively “meeting” the challenge, our success (and ease) in overcoming it will be far greater. Meeting the challenge simply means releasing the negative, combative, hostile approach and welcoming it as a “lesson” that will give us greater clarity, wisdom and perspective as we move forward in life (and business). When we begin to welcome the human experience (including all if its challenges) with open arms, we begin to energetically shift our attraction away from those exhaustive, challenging experiences we seem to manifest so easily… and start paving the way to an easy, more prosperous path.
